Kimia Hendi is an accomplished independent filmmaker driven by a deep passion for storytelling. Growing up in Tehran, Iran, Kimia's fascination with film and narrative began at an early age. She pursued her Bachelor of Cinema, specialising in cinematography, at the esteemed Art University of Tehran.
 

Continuing her pursuit of excellence, Kimia embarked on a transformative journey to Melbourne, Australia, where she completed her Masters of Film & TV at the prestigious Victorian College of Arts (VCA). In recognition of her exceptional talent and dedication, she was honored with the Outstanding Achievement award in 2018.
 

In 2020, seeking to broaden her horizons and immerse herself in the European film landscape, Kimia enrolled in a Master's course at LUCA School of Arts in Brussels, Belgium. This experience provided her with invaluable insights and further honed her skills as a filmmaker. Her time at LUCA culminated in the creation of her recent film, "Inherent," which showcases her growth and artistic prowess.

Kimia's directorial and production talents have shone through in her body of work since 2015. She has successfully helmed four short films and a feature documentary that have garnered recognition and acclaim from prestigious film festivals worldwide. Notably, her short film "Passage" earned her the esteemed Emerging Australian Director award at MIFF in 2019. The film's success extended beyond accolades, with international distribution in multiple countries.
 

Currently, Kimia is focused on developing her highly anticipated first feature film, aiming to bring her distinct storytelling vision to the big screen in the upcoming year. Her creative drive, combined with her exceptional storytelling abilities, positions her as a rising talent in the industry.
